One of the workshops I lead is BE THE HOPE; it’s a space for survivors of sexual assault. Although it is generally done in person or virtually with groups, I really care about those struggling. The workshop provides practical toolds — exercises and ideas — that can be used by anyone, and getting those resources to people matters to me.

So, I recorded a video of the workshop. It is one hour and nineteen minutes long because it walks through the agenda as if it were being presented. Some of the things in it include:

  • The Container Visualization technique
  • The Coping Hand Strategy
  • Somatic Exercises
  • 6 Word Studies
  • A reading of a chapter from “Dance For Me”
  • A page of resources for survivors of rape, domestic violence, children being abused, suicide, etc

Since it is not live, but recorded, it doesn’t include the time for creating art; however, this something that can be very helpful and powerful. I fully recommend taking the gifts within yourself and using them to help nurture a sense of hopefulness.

If you watch some or all of the video and want to recreate it with a group of people, either live or virtually, or if you watched it and want to share your story or ask a question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
